Dear Mr. Abrams, please stop making Star Trek movies...


This is one of the ideas my brother and me have and develop together. I don't remember what parts are from him and what is mine...


Well, as concerns the new movie... the only thing that makes it bearable is, that it's in a parallel-universe and doesn't touch the "real" ST-Universe. But maybe that is the problem, it is a good movie, but it doesn't have anything to do with Star Trek. Change the name of the persons and places and so make it some standalone-movie and everything is fine.

Although... there is one thing, one little detail, that had made it all acceptable. If it had been there. My brother suggested it: If in the end the camera had focused on the medal, that Kirk received, and if this medall had displayed a globe with a sword sticking in it from noth- to southpole, THEN the movie would be okay.

Mirror, Mirror.

It was the Starfleet symbol I meant, not the Earth Globe.
There were two sword symbols in the mirror universe:
- Sword through globe, Terran Empire (opposing the United Federation of Planets)
- Sword in the Starfleet logo (communicator), Imperial Starfleet (opposing Federation Starfleet)
I meant the second one, as I think I saw something like this glitter on the medal.

This tiny little detail as the end of the movie, and I'd have been partially happy.

Yes, it's the "old" Star Trek-line. I didn't change it, because it is the original. "Man" often means "human", not only male.

I for one didn't mind the movie. Not the traditional Trek plotline, though perhaps that's what they needed. To date, just about every trek series shares at least a dozen episodes telling the same story, just with different actors. At least now things are shaken up a bit.

For better or for worse...:)

For the better I hope. Well, ST XI is a good movie, I just ... missed something. It didn't feel like Star Trek very much...
